DIPLO + SONNY FODERA – TURN BACK TIME
Dieser Monat ist etwas ganz Besonderes für den in Mississippi geborenen Diplo und dem Australischer Sonny Fodera.
Die beiden DJs und Produzenten feierten nicht nur ihren Geburtstag am selben Tag, sondern sie werden mit ihrer bevorstehenden Zusammenarbeit ‚Turn Back Time‘, die über Higher Ground herauskommt, auch die Show stehlen.
Besonders interessierte House-Music-Fans haben vielleicht schon Sonnys Beitrag auf seinem Instagram gesehen, wie er Schnipsel aus dem Track austauscht und das Publikum bei früheren Gigs getestet hat. Obwohl dies ihre erste gemeinsame Produktion ist, ist es nicht das erste Mal, dass sich ihre Wege kreuzten, denn Sonny Fodera lieferte bereits einen Gastmix für Diplo & Friends, der am 1. Mai auf BBC Radio 1 ausgestrahlt wurde.
Nach den erfolgreichen Veröffentlichungen von Mad Decent beschloss Diplo im vergangenen Jahr auch die Gründung eines zweiten Labels, das sich ausschließlich der House-Musik widmet. Sein neues Imprint Higher Ground ist in der Tat eine Brutstätte für Neuveröffentlichungen, und dass Diplo dieses Genre ehrt und sich ihm widmet, bestätigt dies nur:

This month is very special for Mississippi-born Diplo and Australian Sonny Fodera.
Not only did the two DJs and producers celebrate their birthdays on the same day, but they’re going to steal the show with their upcoming collaboration ‚Turn Back Time‘, which will be released via Higher Ground.
House music fans in particular may have seen Sonny’s contribution on his Instagram, swapping snippets from the track and testing the audience at previous gigs. Although this is their first production together, it is not the first time their paths have crossed, as Sonny Fodera has already delivered a guest mix for Diplo & Friends, which was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 on 1 May.
After the successful releases of Mad Decent, Diplo also decided last year to found a second label dedicated exclusively to house music. His new imprint Higher Ground is indeed a hotbed of new releases, and the fact that Diplo honours and dedicates itself to this genre only confirms this:
