TIGA – COLOURS SO BRIGHT
Turbo Recordings fühlt sich geehrt, das neueste Werk von Labelgründer Tiga zu präsentieren, ein weiterer Karrierehöhepunkt von dem Mann, den viele Mr. Pinnacle nennen. ‚Es ist immer etwas Besonderes für mich, eine Platte auf Turbo herauszubringen‘, sagt Tiga. ‚Als Labelbesitzer war es ein einfaches Ja. Als geschätzter Label-Künstler war ich von der Entscheidung angenehm überrascht.‘ 🙂
Tiga produzierte die Platte mit Quinn von Paranoid London, alias Johnny Aux, in dessen Londoner Old School Underground-Studio und mischte rohen Acid-House und Electro mit Live-Vocals, angeheizt durch eine kurze, aber heftige Affäre mit Fair Lady Alcohol. ‚Sein Studio ist der einzige Ort, an dem ich jemals wirklich trinke‘ sagt Tiga. ‚Sie denken wahrscheinlich, ich sei ein asketischer Marcus-Aurelius-Typ, aber es stellt sich heraus, dass ich nicht immun bin gegen das ansteckende Grinsen der süßen Jungen aus Old London Town.‘
Schaltet man die humoristischen Nachbrenner für einen Moment aus, ist die Geschichte hinter der Entstehung des Songs ernster. Tiga nahm ‚Colours So Bright‘ auf, kurz nachdem er der Beerdigung seines engen Freundes, des legendären Produzenten Philippe Zdar, beigewohnt hatte. ‚Ich fühlte mich von seinem Geist umhüllt‘, sagt Tiga. ‚Das Artwork der Platte ist ein Foto aus Ibiza, wo wir jedes Jahr gerne Zeit mit unseren Familien verbrachten. Der Song ist von ihm inspiriert und ihm gewidmet.‘

Tiga produced the record with Quinn of Paranoid London, aka Johnny Aux, at his old-school London underground studio, mixing raw acid house and electro with live vocals, fueled by a brief but torrid affair with Fair Lady Alcohol. ‚His studio is the only place I ever really drink‘ says Tiga. ‚You probably think I’m an ascetic Marcus Aurelius type, but it turns out I’m not immune to the infectious grins of the cute boys from Old London Town.‘
Turning off the humorous afterburners for a moment, the story behind the song’s creation is more serious. Tiga recorded ‚Colours So Bright‘ shortly after attending the funeral of his close friend, legendary producer Philippe Zdar. ‚I felt enveloped by his spirit,‘ Tiga says. ‚The artwork of the record is a photo from Ibiza, where we loved to spend time with our families every year. The song is inspired by him and dedicated to him.‘
